This weekend i'm headed to Yakima, Washington to visit 35 quilters who are making my Tulip Crush pattern...

My friend Marcia just finished this Tulip Crush flimsy and i'm taking it to show!...isn't it great?  Love how she combined the small pillow tulips with the large quilt tulips.  Super Sweet!!

So many fun possibilities using the Tulip Crush pattern and a little imagination!

And the Winners Are.....

What a nice response to my Tulip Crush Give~Away!  Thank you all for entering!

Here are the winners!
My favorite season is spring. It is always such a relief after winter. I love your tulips. Thanks for the chance to win.
Your pattern is beautiful. Would look great in any fabric line! I like Spring and Summer, but my favorite would have to be summer. Maybe because our Ohio winters are so long and cold.
Spring, so glad winter is over and then it has to be fall. Who doesn't love all of the beautiful colors that come with the fall season? Thanks for the fun!!
For me, I think Spring is my favorite - I like the cooler days, the bursts of color, and some of the activities we do in the Spring.
I have to pick Spring, when everything is just starting to come to life again. Plus, I'm not a big "hot weather" fan, and summer in Eastern Washington is just HOT!. I love your tulips, and those flowers just make me think SPRING!!! Thanks for the opportunity

On another quilt worthy note....
I want to share a fun friendship quilt with you.

Quilting was done by my longarm friend Judy who sold me her longarm machine and taught me how!

I have no idea where i found this backing, but it's perfect!

Craftsy published my recent blog post titled, Common Threads:  How To Plan a Friendship Quilt Project
Click on the blue link and read how you and a couple of your quilting friends can make your own unique Friendship quilt!

Here's a look at a recent Springtime Friendship quilt made by Diane!  It was super fun to make together!  Read How!
Do you see some of my Tulip's?  I made them specifically for our Springtime Friendship quilt...and from there...Tulip Crush was hatched!

Hope this inspires you!  Leave a message on my Craftsy post...i love feedback!  Let me know what you and your friends will make together!

You can find it at Piecing The Past Quilts
Right now, Debbie is having a store wide 20% off sale!!

Tulip Crush Pattern Give~Away!

Ready to say good bye to Spring?  I am!  And to celebrate the passing season, i am having a Give~Away until June 20th!  Which by the way, IS the first day of SUMMER!!  Yay!
okay okay...the binding is not stitched onto the back in this photo...Lol

But it is now!  Yay me!

Tulip Crush Quilt measures 54" x 72"

It looks good from every angle!  I just love it!

I've combined the new Tulip Crush Quilt pattern with the Tulip Crush Pillow pattern and together they sell for $8.50  Now available on Craftsy and Etsy!

Made from the smaller tulips in the pillow pattern, Karen Green from K's Quilting Korner whipped up this awesome mug rug!  I love the bright cheerful whimsical look! Thank you Karen for sharing your tulips and photo with me!  :)
A simple row of tulips facing opposite directions would make a great runner too!

If you would like to enter the Give~Away to win a Tulip Crush Quilt and Pillow pattern...answer this question in the comment section below....
What's your favorite season?  Spring or Summer?  Leave your email too!  :)
Mine, hands down is Summer!
Give~Away ends midnight June 20th Pacific Standard Time.
I'll draw 5 names!

Oh...and ps...i have a Summer Crush pattern coming out in July!

Tulip Crush goes Prim

Here's my Super Sized Tulip Crushes!  I really love the darker primitive look...so i just had to design this one to welcome Spring into my home!

Don't look too close...i still have to hand stitch the binding down!   Some quilters love that part...not me.  Lol

When i started this quilt, i picked a background lighter in color. After making 2 tulips, i knew i was not going to be happy with it...so instead of tossing them aside, i tea stained them!

The only problem with tea staining...those tulips shrunk just a bit. But i made them work regardless!!  Press, stretch a bit and press again.

I'll be adding the new Tulip Crush Quilt pattern to my existing Tulip Crush pillow pattern.  If you have purchased the pillow pattern already on Craftsy, you will be notified of the updated version and can download it for free!

Currently the pillow pattern sells for $5...once i include the quilt pattern, the price will become $8.50.   If you purchase Tulip Crush pillow pattern before May 25th, you'll get it for the lessor price and can download the new version when it becomes available.  :)

Spring = May flowers!

Tulip Crush Pillow With Binding

A simple single Tulip can brighten even a tiny corner of a room.
My previous blog post has a step by step pictorial for making a pillow with binding.

I made the pillow form too.  This finished Tulip Crush pillow measures 3" x 6" and no way will find a pillow form that size!

For the pillow form, I placed (2) 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" fabrics right sides together, stitched around using a 1/4" seam allowance.  I left an opening about 3" long to allow for stuffing the form with a packaged polyfil.  Once it was stuffed, i whip stitched the opening closed.

Placed the pillow form inside the envelope pillow (envelope pillow tutorial on my previous post)

ezpz!!

Check out this great example of Tulip Crush made by friend Cindy!!!

Would make the perfect 16"table topper!!!
I've now listed Tulip Crush Pillow pattern on CraftsyEtsy and also available on my blog

I'm designing a larger version of this pattern too!  Using two different tulips...as seen in Cindy's quilt.  Her right tulip is a bit chunkier than the other two.
Stay tuned for Monster tulips that measure 6" x 18"!!!
