Tulip Crush goes Prim

Here's my Super Sized Tulip Crushes!  I really love the darker primitive look...so i just had to design this one to welcome Spring into my home!

Don't look too close...i still have to hand stitch the binding down!   Some quilters love that part...not me.  Lol

When i started this quilt, i picked a background lighter in color. After making 2 tulips, i knew i was not going to be happy with it...so instead of tossing them aside, i tea stained them!

The only problem with tea staining...those tulips shrunk just a bit. But i made them work regardless!!  Press, stretch a bit and press again.

I'll be adding the new Tulip Crush Quilt pattern to my existing Tulip Crush pillow pattern.  If you have purchased the pillow pattern already on Craftsy, you will be notified of the updated version and can download it for free!

Currently the pillow pattern sells for $5...once i include the quilt pattern, the price will become $8.50.   If you purchase Tulip Crush pillow pattern before May 25th, you'll get it for the lessor price and can download the new version when it becomes available.  :)

Spring = May flowers!

  5. The quilt is beautiful, I really like the colors. The pillow tulips bothered me with the blue leaves, so I like this better!

  6. And the quilt police will not arrest you if you sew the binding on by machine. I promise. Press it flat from the front, turn it over, run a little bead of Elmer's washable school glue down the stitching line on the back. Fold over the binding so it covers the stitching line. Press and it will dry the glue and hold the fabric down without a million pins or having the back side scootch out from under while you are stitching from the front. Use an even feed foot if you like, I don't usually. Stitch in the ditch on the front side. Waalaa, binding done. Nobody will know. Or care. The glue makes it a little stiffer,but comes out easily either with a damp washcloth or the first time you wash the quilt.
