Cheryl's Indian Summer quilt top was on display at Sew Many Quilts in Bend, Oregon this past Fall. A great shop and they sell some of my patterns...so stop in if you can!
I finally had a chance to machine quilt Cheryl's Indian Summer as a thank you for loaning it out. It always helps sell patterns when there's a sample hanging in the quilt shop!
I absolutely LOVE Cheryl's black sunflower!!! who'da thunk?
The background fabric Cheryl used is actually a darker taupe colored muslin. It's much richer and more stunning than what my photos are showing.
Here's the original Indian Summer quilt. I used a Riley Blake Swiss Dot for my background. A lighter brighter version for those who like that feel.
I'm still working on another Indian Summer that is a bit more primitive in color and design.
Someday...i'll get it finished!
Indian Summer measures 51" x 63" and uses 1-1/2 yards of background fabric. The sunflowers can be made from a variety of 1/8 yard cuts for the centers and petals...or use up scraps! Find the pattern here
**Another Indian Summer quilt will also be on display at the Kansas City Regional Quilt show in June...a wonderful quilt and fabric designer will offer Indian Summer patterns and kits to be sold in her booth. I'm kind super excited about that!!! :)
Now to figure out how i can attend that show! hum... Oregon to Kansas...
Wonderful, Karen your "Indian Summer Quilt" is out of site!!!! So happy for you with showing your fabulous designs! Hug's, Carolyn
