Charity Auction Quilt

This is my friend Sandy's quilt...as she prepares her quilt tops, she frequently sends me photos...with thoughts on how to machine quilt.  Pretty plain quilt top don't ya think?
Sandy found a symbol she wanted me to stitch into the '4-patches'. ...the auction is for her local church.
I agreed...on one condition, she enlarge the symbol to fit the area and trace 20 of them onto Golden Thread tracing paper using a water soluble marking pen.

Then i stitched the motif onto the quilt, freehand...20 times!  boring...sorry Sandy.  lol
I thought the symbol needed to be contained.  I did not have a large enough acrylic circle template...so i looked around my sewing room and a~ha!  I'll use this!  The spiral from my Circle Lord.
Added freehand meandering feathers...
Hope it brings a pretty penny!

  8. I no longer want to give up the quilt! It went in pretty plain, and magically (with a lot of work) came out much prettier than I could have imagined. But alas, I have already sent pictures to the auction folks, so I won't be able to keep it. Thank you Karen... you are truly the best. -- Sandy
p.s. tracing it 20 times was pretty boring too... LOL

  13. You stitched that quilt on freehand mode? Oh wow! That’s is just so incredible! I guess, it’s worth the effort since it’s going to be auctioned. It’s more like putting all your strength for the cause of the church, right?
